Barnard in Washington (BIW) invites ColumbiaDC to a special, virtual presentation by Debbie Walsh, the Director of the non-partisan Center for American Women in Politics ("CAWP") at the Rutgers Eagleton Institute of Politics.  CAWP is the leading source of scholarly research and data regarding the participation of women in United States politics.  Its mission is to study and promote the participation of American women in politics, and to expand the diversity of women in both politics and government.  CAWP also offers numerous educational and outreach programs, including leadership and training programs to empower women to participate in politics.

Ms. Walsh is a frequent media commentator and was named one of the 21 Leaders for the 21st Century by Women's eNews. She is also the proud parent of a 2012 Barnard graduate!  Her presentation will focus on past and current trends relevant to the election of women to local, state and federal offices and the socioeconomic or other factors that are driving these trends.

Time permitting, there will be a Q&A session after her presentation.

This event is free, but you must RSVP:  HERE
