Join us on this fine Saturday afternoon, as newly minted Met, Juan Soto, returns to Nat’s Park. Soto’s legacy is revered by many Nat’s fans: how the19-year old, called up from the depths of the Nat’s Farm System, energized and inspired the team; his 8th inning single in the 2019 Wild Card game catapulted the Nats to the Play-Offs; three homers in the World Series, one on the train track, his League-leading .351 average in 2020, burnished his Nat’s legacy. Now Soto returns, a generational talent, older, stronger, wiser, richer. with expectations through the roof.

Forever linked to Soto’s legacy, but whose potential is yet to be fully realized, are the prospects the Nats received in return for Soto. Starting pitcher, Mackenzie Gore; slugging outfielder, James Wood; and shortstop C.J. Abrams, already anchor the Nat’s roster. Promising outfielder Robert Hassell III waits at AAA, and young flamethrower, Jarlin Susana, rises through the Farm System. Bolstered by recent arrivals, Dylan Crews, Nathan Lowe, Josh Bell and Mike Soroka, see the refurbished Nats take on Soto’s Mets. As you reevaluate the trade, and Soto’s legacy, remember, “The opera isn’t over til the fat lady sings.”
