Get involved!

We are collaborating with Junior Achievement (JA) of Greater Washington as part of our Community Support and would like to recruit volunteers.

JA’s 5th Entrepreneurship Summit will run from July 27th-31st this summer. There are nearly 100 students participating from more than 10 counties in DC, MD, and VA. For those not familiar with the JA Entrepreneurship Summit, it is an intensive, five-day virtual “startup boot camp” where high school students are challenged to design ready-to-launch, socially-conscious businesses, leveraging the support of a real-world company partner. The experience culminates in a pitch competition to a panel of esteemed business leaders.

ColumbiaDC is seeking a team of ~10 consultants from the Business School to support these student ventures by consulting a student team for approximately one to two hours. During the consultation sessions, the student team will present their progress on their business solution and our team is asked to provide feedback and constructive criticism which will be used by the students in formulating their final business plans and pitches.

JA will provide a brief training and a facilitator guide for the consultants. Available date/times are:

• July 29th from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm
• July 30th from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm

Pls let us know if you are interested in participating in this initiative by COB this Friday 07/17/20 (please also pick any or both date/time options that work for you)
