Join Columbia alums to see the powerhouse Los Angeles Dodgers take on the indestructible Nats in a possible preview of the NL Championship Series. At 50 wins over losses, the Dodgers sport the best record in major league baseball and are on a pace to set a record for wins in a season. With a superb pitching staff headed by Clayton Kershaw and lights-out closer Kenley Jansen and a crushing line-up featuring last year’s NL Rookie of the Year, Corey Seager and this year’s most likely NL Rookie of the Year slugger Cody Bellinger, and veterans Adrian Gonzalez and Justin Turner, the Dodgers will be the team to beat in the NL playoffs.
The Nationals at 30 wins over losses, despite multiple injuries to their opening day line-up, have the next best record in baseball. They have often been carried by Adam Lind, Wilmer Difo and the rest of their deep bench. GM Mike Rizzo again has pulled virtual rabbits out of his hat, signing P. Edwin Jackson and OF/2B Howie Kendrick, and by resurrecting the bullpen with Sean Doolittle, Ryan Madson and Brandon Kintzler, at the trading deadline. Fans are looking forward to seeing Jason Werth and Trea Turner tuning up for the play-off run after returning from the DL and possibly even Bryce Harper. There’s even a chance that the Nationals could clinch the NL East title with a win that day.
Here’s the kicker. The seats Columbia DC has reserved are in the Lower Level, Section 110, Rows RR/UU, shaded and out of the sun. They regularly sell for $50 a pop, but will cost you only $35 each, a 30% discount. Some of our group may be interested in a post-game dinner. Please tell us if you’d like to join us. Reserve your seat for this afternoon of stars!!
