City Orchard

Volunteer with Columbia Alumni and

Bread for the City

Saturday, November 14th, 10am-1pm

Fall has arrived!  Feeling the urge to get out of the City?  Interested in getting out and enjoying the fresh Fall air while helping some of our fellow DC residents?!  Please join us for a fun volunteer event at Bread for the City's Orchard in Beltsville, MD.  Along with other local Columbia Alum, you'll be able to spend the morning getting your hands dirty helping to tend crops (berries, apples, pears...) grown and harvested for food banks throughout the city.  Information on the group: HERE

If interested in volunteering, write to [email protected] so we can get a head count.

NOTE ON TRANSPORTATION: The closest metro station is the Greenbelt metro station, which is about 15 minutes away from the farm.  Carpools or group transportation can be arranged; please note in your RSVP if you need a ride or can provide a ride.

We look forward to seeing you out in the Orchard on the 14th!   If you can't make it, but you are interested in volunteering with Bread for the City (either at their Orchard or their Food Pantry location in the city), at another time please email us.  We'd love to arrange more volunteer events for our members.
