First home Exhibition game of the 2019 season
Your seat is ready. ColumbiaDC has your ticket to see the younger speedier 2019 Nats take on the New York Yankees on Monday, March 25, at 5:05 pm in the final exhibition game of the pre-season. If you are a Yankees fan, N.B. this will be the only appearance the powerful Yankees make at Nats Park this season (unless the teams meet in the World Series). You won’t want to miss them.
In the midst of Winter, it’s hard to believe, but Spring Training starts in 2 weeks. General Manager Mike Rizzo has been busy making trades and signing free agents to rebuild the Nats. Among the new faces, three pitchers stand out:
Lefty starter Patrick Corbin, the plumb of the free agent pitching market, and relievers Kyle Barraclough (Bea Claw) and Trevor Rosenthal. Veteran catchers Yan Gomes and Kurt Suzuki have been added along with 2015 All Star and 2017 gold glove second baseman Brian Dozier.
The outfield will see speedy rookie Victor Robles in center flanked by “boy wonder” Juan Soto (aka “Magic Juan”) and Adam (Mighty Mouse”) Eaton in right.
It’s hard to say now what other roster surprises will impact the Nats by March 25, but, stay tuned, knowing Rizzo, anything is possible.
